I think we missed this closure of Dalkey Island recently (see link below).
This emphasises that we should never presume that, just because land is publicly owned, it is always open to the public....

Thanks to Mick C for Saturday's enjoyable outing and visit to the since re-opened island.

Thanks for that Ben, I do have concerns regarding increasing the number of terns on Dalkey Is as opposed to the Maidens Rocks in case the increasing population of terns means we will face a similar situation as at Rockabill where we cannot land for the breeding season. I know they put boxes for the birds on the Maiden rocks but will we see the same on Dalkey. Can we see the whole seven point plan they refer to. I wouldn't mind if they secured a portion of the island for the terns but fear they might consider closing access to the whole of the island.

When I get back I will drop an email to DLR CoCo
And ask them to include the club on any of these announcements in the future

Also might try and get info on any planned restrictions
