Hi all,

The Club Meet this coming Saturday Oct 13th will be from Skerries harbour.

A Status Orange alert is in place from midnight tonight to tomorrow morning for our part of the island and this is throwing up some fairly erratic wind strength (and direction) readings for Saturday morning. The WG WRF 9km reading for Skerries off St Patrick’s island for 1000hrs Saturday is SSW F4 - F6, whereas the ICON 7km reading for the same time and place is NE, F4 - F5 ( the wider GFS reading for same is NNW, F3 - screenshots below).

As such, we won’t make a definitive call today on the meet. Check back here tomorrow evening after 1815hrs for an update.

We’re hopeful that a meet will go ahead on Saturday but for now, let’s see how the wind blows…

It's looking good at the moment, Leon.

The meet goes ahead and is is open to all members. Meet at the slip by the RNLI station in Skerries for 1000hrs to be on the water for 1030hrs.

Make sure all your clothing and gear is up to spec, especially skeg, deck lines and hatch covers.

Do bring drinks (including at least one hot drink) and a snack as we’ll be stopping for a short break at some point.

As usual, the final call will be made on the slipway tomorrow morning.

Any queries, call / text me 086-4124430
