Meet at the RNLI Slipway at 1000hrs to launch at 1030hrs. Wind forecast at F4/6 E/NE. Temp 9C with waves at 1.0m. HW 1138hrs with a good tide of 3.3m running. Forecast is not settled yet though looking quite windy and with a direction from the east it will be challenging when we add the Ebb tides. I will post again closer to the time with an update. For now this will be a L3+ meeting. Post here if planning to come or txt me at 0851086814 if concerned about whether this is a meeting for you.

For anyone going to this meet, remember that we are planning to do a beach litter-pick during the trip, as part of National Spring Clean (see www.nationalspringclean.org/ ).

The plan is to spend about an hour after lunch picking rubbish, if you are willing. I will have plastic bags and rubber gloves (only size large, unfortunately).

It would be an idea to bring bungees or straps so as to be able to attach a rubbish bag to the rear deck of your kayak IF conditions allow. Otherwise we could put bagged rubbish into our hatches.

I have arranged for us to leave bagged rubbish near the slip when we return to Howth.

Hope to see you there!

This meet goes ahead as planned. Forecast is for F3/4 gusting F4/5 East wind with a 1m wave height. This meet is for L3+ paddlers. Paddlers to ensure they have helmets, good decklines and are dressed for immersion in the 9C water. Bring a hot drink for lunch as the temp will be low in the East wind. Rock hopping will be very challenging if possible at all. My intention is to paddle to the Bailey and if conditions allow to continue east along the coast to a lunch spot at Sutton Sailing Club. This will be a 20kms paddle in total. Post here if travelling or txt to number above. Tide will be ebbing from approx 1130hrs.
