If you have something to say that you think others would like to read, please write it down and email it to the chairperson. It doesn't have to be perfect. Pictures help. I'm sure many of you will have been on interesting kayaking trips this summer. Please tell us all about them!
The copy deadline for the September issue is Monday 30th August, fast approaching now.

The June edition of the club newsletter, Soundings, is out now! It includes articles about trips planned and undertaken by club members: whale watching in Alaska, training in Skye and a long open crossing from Northern Ireland to Scotland and back. There's also an article about the recent clean-up of Dalkey Island, an identification guide for Mediterranean and black-headed gulls, both of which can be seen locally and the first crossword from our new crossword editor!

The ICU AGM took place last Saturday, 29th May. It was a small and suprisingly efficient affair with fewer than about 30 delegates attending and the whole event concluded in a couple of hours. Considering that the ICU has several thousand members, it seemed like a remarkably poor turnout. Almost all of the delegates represented clubs with virtually no individual members present, but perhaps that's not suprising given that individuals (not clubs) must form blocs of 10 in order to exercise voting rights!
