Pádraig Whooley, Irish Whale and Dolphin Group (IWDG) Sightings Coordinator returns to ECSKC to present on the very latest cetacean (whales, dolphins and porpoises) research discoveries, news, and sighting/stranding trends along the East coast and further afield. This is a great opportunity to improve your understanding of the 24 cetacean species that can be found in Irish waters and to learn about how you can play a part in their conservation by contributing observations of marine megafauna species to the IWDG's recording schemes. The tone will as always be informal and informative. Hecklers welcome. Expect push-ups if late....

Hi, I have been asked to pass this on to all female members in your club. Just a reminder that the next Female Kayaking Weekend is on the 19th and 20th of November in Mayo. The Cork weeeknd was a great success with over 20 girls turning up to give surf kayaking and playboating a go. Hopefully the Mayo weekend will be even bigger. We plan to do a sea kayak trip in Clew Bay on Saturday the 19th and have a polo session on the Sunday in the pool in Ballina, (we hopefully will have time to practice some rolling as well, in the nice warm pool).
Sign up at :

All the details are here.
Spread the word and hopefully I'll see you in Mayo in a few weeks time.
Regards
Laura Griffin

Congratulations to all who took part It was a great day and well supported given the forecast and actual conditions, which were challenging but agreed by all - fantastic. A big thank you to the East Coast Sea Kayaking Club members, committee, friends and families, for supporting us from start to finish.

We are pleased to launch our next set of training courses for the club.
To encourage individuals and to help the club grow, we have negotiated the best possible prices from the course providers and then included club subsidies.
So if you are developing your skills or are already at a certain level but have never done the course, here is your chance!
