If you're relatively new to sea kayaking and would like to try out a club meet, you'll probably like the club introductory meets best. These are not for complete beginners (see Can beginners join the club?), but will suit anyone who's completed an introductory course and is of "improver" standard. At these meets in particular we have lots of experienced paddlers present and there'll be other people too who are also new to the club, so it's a good time to give it a try.

On the other hand if you've already been sea kayaking for a while and are feeling confident, just pick a relatively short meet in a convenient location, on a day with good conditions and come along. It's probably a good idea to contact the meet leader first, just to check what they have in mind for the meet and to make sure that it suits your ability.

You can find a short description of the different types of meets by clicking the different categories in the key for the events calendar.
