Coastwatch Annual Citizen Science Shore Survey

Hi all,
It is nearly the end of the Autumn All Ireland Coastwatch Survey period. Last day to survey is October 15th. This survey is part of a Europe wide survey that provides a snapshot of the state of out coastlines.
If you fancy getting to know 500m ( or more) of coast really well from the land, this survey is well worth doing and adds to the body of knowledge about the state of our coasts in relation to litter, water quality, seagrass zones and the animals and plants that live there and more!
There are lots of support resources available on the website to help you complete the survey and contact lists of coordinators if you have questions or need water testing kits. While the survey form looks detailed actually works quite quickly as you walk along. Give it go!

If you are interested in completing the Coastwatch Survey, please book your section on the Coastwatch website here:
www.coastwatch.org/all-ireland-survey-autumn-2025

You need to survey about 1 hour before Low Water.

A lot of the Dublin coastline is already booked. But you can chose anywhere you are interested in, if it has not been taken.
I am going out to my local patch north of Clogher Head next Tuesday at  1 hour before Low water, which is 10.30 up with me, if anyone is free to join. PM if you are coming up.

Shenick and Colt Islands are currently open as is much of Howth peninsular so ripe for sea kayakers to reach. Portrane beach is also open for booking.

You can find an area to survey on this link:

Thanks
