Join ECSKC – New Members
The following easy steps will get you quickly paddling on the water with East Coast Sea Kayaking Club.
- Before You Join Us – you’ll need to acquire a basic kayak skills certification from Canoeing Ireland or BCU (British Canoe Union). Respectively, these are called Level 2 Kayak Skills (Canoeing Ireland) and 2* Kayak (BCU) qualifications. They are short but very useful ’step one' courses and are specially designed to introduce beginners to basic skills and safety codes for kayaking. (Any recognised equivalent or higher certification, once verified by a club leader, will suffice also). Here is a link to some of the professional providers who conduct the above courses. Once you’ve received your Level 2 Kayak Skills / 2* certification (or recognised equivalent), we’ll be delighted to have you on board.
- Registration – follow the procedure below. Initial Registration provides immediate access to Club facilities such as the forum, pool and training sessions, social meets etc. Registration also provides you with the all-important personal insurance cover required for taking part in Club Meets. You may also register to become a member of the Irish Sea Kayaking Association when completing your registration.
- Welcome – Following registration you will be contacted by a Committee Member or Club Leader to welcome you and to explain how the club works.
- Associate Membership – All new members join as Associate Members for the first year. This provides access to Club equipment and activities (including club trips as soon as you acquire your entry level Level 2 Kayak Skills cert). The only exception is that you won't have the right to vote at an AGM/EGM. You'll acquire this right as soon as you become a full member.
Registration
Online registration and payment is now available and is the preferred method of joining and payment. You can pay by Paypal or credit card online or use cheque or bank transfer as "offline" methods. Complete the online registration form by clicking here.
- We'll immediately send you an email with your username and password.
- Click the link in the email to confirm your email address. You must do this, otherwise you will not be listed in our membership lists and you will not be able to log-in!
- If you chose an offline payment method, don't forget to send a cheque or arrange a bank transfer in payment.
- Once payment is received we'll send an email confirming activation of your website login. A receipt for payment and membership card will be posted to you.
Subscription
Adults may join the club for an annual subscription (details here). Membership is open to adults only.
The membership year runs from 1st January until 31st December of each year.
No email address?
Inconvenient, but not a problem! Download a form, print and complete it, then post to the treasurer with a cheque. Whilst you're welcome to join the club without an email address and we can still provide you with a website login, some of the facilities of the website necessarily require an email address and will be unusable without.
Please, only use a paper form if you are unable to complete the online form and registration process.

We are two paddlers from the Danish kayak club "Rungsted Kajak Klub" with 300 members north of Copenhagen. We are river paddlers and would like to visit your club as Paddle Buddys. We are looking for a local Dublin paddling partner. Are you open to guests paddlers?
Best regards,
Hanne & Stefan Hammerich

Hi
I was looking at your website and some photos. They are fantastic. My husband and myself own 2 single sit on top kayaks. I noticed that most of the people would have different kind of kayaks, which are probably much faster.
We were wondering if we could still join the club and be able to go for some trips with the members . I would love to try firs if possible before I join. We are from Carrigaline and often go some short trips up to 2 hours but only staying close to the shore.
I would be grateful for your help.
Thank you.
