Hi everyone,
My name is ECSCK Library -- I know, not easy to say is it. Talk about a good start in life...
For the past two years I have been happily nested on a shelf in Jess and Herve's warm and friendly home. They took me out regularly, I got to meet lots of members, went to their houses', and Jess updated me after every social. What a great time I was having!

Congratulations to all who took part It was a great day and well supported given the forecast and actual conditions, which were challenging but agreed by all - fantastic. A big thank you to the East Coast Sea Kayaking Club members, committee, friends and families, for supporting us from start to finish.

The Dublin Bay Sea Kayak Race is due to go ahead this Sunday, 18th September 2011. The venue is changed to Bray Sailing Club as thay have kindly offered us rescue boats and use of their club house facilities. As the Wind is forecast is F5/6 NW, the event is suitable only for Touring and Racing Classes. There will be no Novice or Sit on class races. The courses will closely follow the coast line to avoid the strongest of the wind and will be tightly marshalled.

Dear Members, For our last social event as Social Reps, Hervé and I have invited Alan Horner et al. to come and talk to us about their trip to Alaska. They have prepared a nice slideshow for us so I hope many of you are available to come in for a bit of craic.
Where: The Club, Dalkey (http://www.theclubdalkey.com/contactus.htm)
When: Friday 30th September, 8pm ish start.
As ever, the library will be around so bring back any unwanted items and take out new stuff! Because it's our last social and I'm not expecting to make it to the AGM (because I'm expecting) I really hope to see many of you there. Cheers, Jess and Hervé

4/9/11 - RACE UPDATE: RACE POSTPONED
The race was postponed due to Small Craft Warning.
The Dublin Bay Sea Kayak Race scheduled for Sunday 4th September was postponed because Met Eireann issued a Small Craft Warning.
Met Eireann predicted (and we got) F6 winds gusting from South.
As safety is a prime concern, the organisers postponed the race.
We propose to re-schedule the race in two weeks time on Sunday, 18th September on the same course.
